Now, I am sure you have all heard about the “that girl” trend that had recently been populated social media, specifically Tik Tok. So what is is all about? Read onto the ultimate guide to becoming that girl
We all now the one girl who seems to have her entire life together – she wakes up early, works out every day, reads, keeps her space clean and organized, eats whole foods, works hard to achieve her dreams and in essence always radiates main character energy. This is who we call (according to Tik Tok) “that girl”.
The concept of the trend in itself is not new, it’s almost entirely the same as the “girl boss” culture but it focuses on the wellness aspect. It highlights self-fulfillment in creating and implementing effective daily routines.
So…how does one become that girl? Read on to find out the tips that has personally helped me tremendously and some of my favorite things that have helped keep my daily routines in check. This is the ultimate guide to becoming that girl.
1. read, Read, read
There’s something to be said about reading, and it doesn’t have to be a book, it can be an article, a poem, basically anything. Not only does reading improve your focus and memory, but it has an amazing effect on your empathy and communication skills. I learn something new every single time I pick up a book. You might not realize it because it is such a simple thing, but there are several effects reading has on our mind and body without even realizing it. I personally love to mix my choice of reading often, from fictions and non-fictions, to articles and studies. It’s always fun to expand the type of material you’re reading.
I also LOVE to journal, it was something I started as a young teen and then started again in high school and I try as much as possible to journal as much as I can. The notebook I use to journal is simple, (click here) but I love looking for journal prompts so I can answer them, and it’s my favorite way to journal. Also my two favorite books that I read in the past year and have read twice more below!
This book will always have a place in my Top 5. It is filled with practical steps about changing and developing habits and how implementing those small habits lead to bigger habits and changes. I highly highly recommend!
I recently finished reading this book, and it gave me many moment of self realization. Very straight to the point, and it encourages you to be very honest with yourself. My favorite book I’ve read so far this year.
2. Set a routine - (morning & night)
I cannot stress enough to you how setting and maintaining a morning and night routine is pretty life changing. Why? Because having a routine (in general) primes you for success. It encourages you to achieve more, think clearly and focus on the things that actually matter. Putting in place a routine for yourself prevents you from stumbling through the day and it helps to make sure that you get the most important things done. It’s been said that high achievers tend to find a routine that works for them and stick to them. The concept of a routine is what many successful people credit as the core to their success.
I’ve learned to love being a morning person and I attribute that to my night routine. The beauty of my night routine and many others is that it’s my time to fully unwind and take the time to practice self-care. It varies but typically it will consist of a my nighttime skincare routine, a face mask, camomile & lavender tea and reading.
When I first discovered ice rolling, I became hooked! My favorite thing to do in the morning to help de-puff my face, it’s seriously the best thing ever, and if you haven’t yet tried it, I guarantee you won’t regret it.
There’s just something about cute pajamas! It’s comfort paradise, but there’s also beauty in having cute sleepwear. You’ll know at the end of the day that you can put on something that makes your feel cute, comfy and relaxed!
3. focus on physical health
This includes exercising regularly, maintaining a consistent sleeping schedule, eating whole and healthy foods. Implementing all of these is essential for living a healthy life. Of course it looks different for everyone but I promise it can be enjoyable. It doesn’t and shouldn’t have to be mundane. It took me a while to find a routine that worked for me. Do some research and find foods and different forms of exercise that you enjoy and are good for your body. Adopt the philosophy of “eat what you love, love what you eat”.
One thing I learned about working out is that, I actually look forward to it when I’m doing something I enjoy. I promise you don’t have to go the gym. I love switching up my workouts from, functional training, pilates, hiking etc. Not only does this keep me fit and consistently active but the release of endorphins when I work out is the best feeling ever. I encourage you to find something that words for you both in food and exercise, a diet or workout that works for someone else may not work for you.
My favorite insulated tumbler! I try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day, so I take this everywhere with me because it’s also the perfect size! Can’t ignore how cute the tumbler is too!
I live in workout clothes! It’s one of the most comfortable and flattering things to wear. I do a lot of my daily activities in cute activewear and you should too! I love a good black ensemble (you can never go wrong with it!) and it makes me feel like “that girl”!
Every girl needs a yoga mat!! Use it at home, or take it to the gym or any of your fitness classes!
I’ve mentioned the bala bangles before, but this is one of my favorite items when I’m resistance training. Not only is it effective in adding weight to your workouts, you can’t deny that’s it’s pretty cute too!
4. stay organized
And I mean that in every single way! One of the best ways to get yoru life in order is to by the power of organization. Get your priorities in order, plan our your goals, establish and stick to a routine, and keep your space neat and tidy.
Every girl, that wants to level up and get their stuff together needs to have a planner. This will allow you to focus on the important activities, prioritize, schedule your appointments and remember them. Planning is also proven to help with time management, productivity thus relieving stress!
If you’re looking for a way to organize your skincare — this is a great option! I use this to organize the skincare products I use in the morning and at night, and it looks good on bathroom countertops!
5. treat yourself to a "self-care day"
Listen up girls (and guys!) , making self-care a priority for yourself is one of the most important steps you will take in improving your life. Ever since I dedicated one day of the week for a full day of self-care, I can confidently say that it has changed my life. A day of self-care can look different for each person, but it’s doing the things you love and help to reset your mind, body and soul that would enable you to take on the upcoming week. My self-care days usually consists of a relaxing bath, a face mask, exfoliating, getting my nails done, going for a walk out in nature, etc. It depends but I try to do something that makes me feel good and ready to take on the following week.
Not only is this diffuser going to make great decor — because it’s beautiful!! But diffusers add to the effect of an at-home spa. I love putting lavender and eucalyptus in my diffuser to help me relax and create an ambient mood.

Above all, you can’t become “that girl” if you don’t embrace a positive and optimistic attitude. Thinking positive and staying optimistic is key to managing the challenges and stresses of everyday life.
